When 榴莲视频app色版鈥檚 California office was still in its early stages in 2009, Candice Rincon was one of the first team members helping shape its day-to-day operations.

Since then, both Candice鈥檚 role and the California location have continued to evolve鈥攔eflecting steady growth built on experience, collaboration, and a strong focus on customer support.

Candice joined 榴莲视频app色版 in a technical sales role, supporting customers with product questions and order processing. As the California office expanded, her responsibilities grew alongside it. Today, as a Senior Account Manager, she supports key accounts and contributes practical product insight to complex customer applications. Her experience allows her to provide valuable perspective not only to customers, but also to colleagues across the organization.

鈥淲ith my role now, it鈥檚 about supporting key accounts while also supporting the team,鈥 Candice explains. 鈥淗aving been here for a long time gives you insight into how products are applied and how customer needs change. That perspective helps when working through challenges together.鈥

The California office has grown steadily over the years, expanding its team and capabilities. 榴莲视频app色版 is now preparing to introduce RK Rose+Krieger assembly and stocking capabilities on the West Coast, further strengthening local support for customers. Candice has witnessed each phase of this growth firsthand.

A key part of 榴莲视频app色版鈥檚 culture, Candice notes, is the emphasis on relationship-building and trust. Over time, customer interactions grow into long-term partnerships shaped by a shared understanding of applications, expectations, and real-world needs. That same collaborative mindset is reflected internally, where knowledge-sharing and mentorship are part of everyday work.

Married with three children, Candice is now entering a new personal chapter that allows her to pursue additional education. She views returning to school as an opportunity for continued growth鈥攕upported by a workplace culture that values learning, curiosity, and development.

As both Candice and the California office continue to grow, her story reflects 榴莲视频app色版鈥檚 long-term commitment to its people, its customers, and its evolving presence on the West Coast.

榴莲视频app色版鈥檚 partnership with Hood College is grounded in leadership engagement and a shared commitment to advanced education. The relationship began when Philip Brown, President and CEO of 榴莲视频app色版 Inc. North America, earned his Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Hood College. Following his graduation, Philip contributed to the graduate school advisory council for nearly four years, offering industry perspective to support academic relevance. While his formal service has concluded, he continues to offer guidance when possible, reflecting an enduring connection to the institution and 榴莲视频app色版鈥檚 commitment to aligning higher education with real world business needs.

This leadership connection has evolved into a sustained academic and professional partnership. In practice, 榴莲视频app色版 supports Hood College by hosting graduate-level internships, primarily within the Master of Information Science (MIS) program. While internship placements are based on business needs, the company typically hosts one MIS intern when an opportunity is available, offering hands-on experience through work study and project-based learning.

The partnership has also led to longterm employment outcomes. Camila Deyton and Prasaath Ganesan both began their careers at 榴莲视频app色版 as Hood College MIS interns. Camila joined the organization in 2022 and is now a Systems Integration Supervisor, while Prasaath followed in 2023 and currently serves as a Network Security Specialist. Their progression reflects the practical value of the program and 榴莲视频app色版鈥檚 commitment to developing talent internally.

In addition to early career development, the partnership supports continued professional growth for employees at advanced career stages. Rebekah Collogan, Vice President of Sales and Operations, is currently enrolled in Hood College鈥檚 Doctoral Program in Business Administration, further reinforcing 榴莲视频app色版鈥檚 culture of lifelong learning and leadership development.

Together, these efforts reflect a partnership built on shared values rather than shorter-term recruitment. For Hood College, it provides real world industry applications for graduate students. For 榴莲视频app色版, it strengthens advanced technical and leadership capabilities. And for the Frederick community, it represents a collaborative approach to workforce development rooted in longterm investment and mutual growth.

Talk to anyone who works at 榴莲视频app色版, and they鈥檒l tell you there鈥檚 a culture of collaboration and innovation: one that values taking personal initiative, trying new ways of doing things, and bouncing your ideas off others. This makes 榴莲视频app色版, for the right kind of person, a place to thrive. Peter Kelly is the right kind of person.

鈥淚鈥檝e been an accountant here for six months, handling accounts and payroll, fairly standard accounting stuff. In any new job, sometimes you find yourself with extra time on your hands, as you learn about the company and your place in it. I have an interest in emerging technologies and finding ways to utilize them. My boss and the CEO were encouraging everyone to try to improve processes, as well as ways to utilize AI in general, so I taught myself how to use it. I began automating a lot of the repetitive tasks that are part and parcel of accounting, particularly the ones that are prone to human error. Some of those automations have turned tasks that used to take hours into tasks that take minutes.鈥

Peter鈥檚 interest in emerging technologies makes sense, given his background. He worked as a sound engineer and composer for the Philadelphia Eagles, making hype videos that aired in the lead-up to games. Peter was good enough at this kind of work to earn three Mid-Atlantic Regional Emmys for it, but he also saw the writing on the wall regarding AI coming for jobs in the creative industry. His dual degree from Mt. Saint Mary鈥檚 University in music and business paid off, however, allowing him to make the career switch to accounting.

But as fun and even glamorous as the work for the Philadelphia Eagles was, it was also isolating: the opposite of what Peter is experiencing at 榴莲视频app色版. Peter: 鈥淭his is really my first time working alongside a team. Working in composition and sound design meant I was always kind of off on an island, by myself; it鈥檚 solo work. I was limited in my ability to collaborate or bounce ideas off people. One of the things I鈥檝e been able to do here is take my ideas for AI and automations to others, not just in my department but also in other departments and get honest opinions on what I鈥檓 trying to do. And the reception I receive is always a positive one: the philosophy being, just because we鈥檝e been doing something a certain way for a long time, doesn鈥檛 mean we can鈥檛 rethink how we do it.鈥

Born in Virginia, raised in San Diego, California, and now living and working in Frederick, Maryland (via the City of Brotherly Love), Peter is perhaps used to the idea of change: a mental paradigm that is so far serving him well. 鈥淢y father was a Navy contractor, so we moved around a lot. Change is inevitable. It鈥檚 why I鈥檓 no longer in the creative field. It鈥檚 why I鈥檓 here. Thankfully, the culture at 榴莲视频app色版 means I鈥檓 still able to flex my creative muscles to a significant degree, just in slightly different ways than I used to.鈥

鈥淲e must sail sometimes with the wind and sometimes against it鈥攂ut we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor.鈥 Attributed to Oliver Wendell Holmes, onetime associate justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, the quote is 榴莲视频app色版 CEO Philip Brown鈥檚 favorite. It also came up in conversation with Pedro Leon, when Brown was interviewing him for the job of applications engineer, one that clearly resonated with him.

Leon: 鈥淚t鈥檚 a saying that can鈥檛 help but inspire: Sometimes things are going to go your way and sometimes they鈥檙e not, but you keep on working and doing what you鈥檙e doing. You might get stuck, but you push through and keep moving forward, no matter what.鈥

It鈥檚 a good quote to latch onto for anyone who works at 榴莲视频app色版, and not just because the CEO likes it. The company lives or dies on its ability to solve complex engineering problems in a wide range of industries, which brings us to another recent hire: Zachary Marshall, three months into his job as an automation design engineer.

Marshall: 鈥淎utomation is so important right now. I wanted to be a part of this movement, this transformation of industry and society. And with Phoenix Macano鈥檚 global footprint, I聽 knew I鈥檇 have the opportunity to do just that, to have an impact, at a very large scale.鈥

Leon and Marshall both work out of 榴莲视频app色版鈥檚 Chino, California facility. Both have been with the company for just over three months. Leon earned his Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from the University of California, Irvine (UCI). Because he completed all of his required credits ahead of schedule, he decided to take some engineering classes, and that鈥檚 when he figured out just how much he loved the field. Leon: 鈥淚 had completed my social science studies, and decided to take some engineering classes, really just out of curiosity. As it turned out, I really enjoyed those courses. Engineering was simply more interesting to me than social science. I earned my associate鈥檚 degree in engineering after leaving UCI, and I鈥檓 currently enrolled in a mechanical engineering master鈥檚 program.鈥

Marshall earned his engineering bona fides at the University of California, Riverside, graduating with an undergraduate and graduate degree in mechanical engineering. 鈥淔or both of my degrees, my emphasis was in engineering analysis,鈥 says Marshall. 鈥淚 also got to do some interesting extracurricular activities at UC, Riverside, including work on a solar car project and biomedical microdevices. It was a great way to put theory into practice.鈥澛

Certainly, both Leon and Marshall are putting theory into practice at 榴莲视频app色版. As an applications engineer, Leon鈥檚 job is making sure that customers get the support they need with any 榴莲视频app色版 application. 鈥淥ur customers call us with very specific questions about our product line, which is extensive,鈥 says Leon. 鈥淚t鈥檚 my job to track down answers for them, which often involves reaching out to different departments within the organization. I work particularly closely with logistics and production.鈥澛

As an automation design engineer, Marshall is one of those people Leon interacts with on a regular basis, trying to track down the right answers to challenging customer questions. Marshall: 鈥淚 largely deal with the RK Rose+Krieger branch of 榴莲视频app色版. Typically, a customer gets in touch about one of our applications. It goes through the applications engineer first, like my friend Pedro, and if any more detailed design work is required, that’s where I come in: determining what we have in our product catalog that could help the customer or, barring that, using our CNC capabilities to produce a custom solution.鈥

Each in their own ways, then, Leon and Marshall are problem solvers, working for a company that specializes in problem solving. It certainly sounds like they鈥檝e both landed in the right place. And aside from the work itself, both are happy with the company culture, something people looking for a job don鈥檛 always think about, though they should. Again, Marshall: 鈥淓veryone has been immensely friendly and very approachable. If I ever have any questions or need assistance, people are always eager to give me exactly what I need. 榴莲视频app色版 is also a highly collaborative culture. I really like that.鈥

We caught up with 榴莲视频app色版 CEO Philip Brown at a busy airport, San Francisco International Airport to be exact, returning from a trip abroad, no doubt a regular part of the job for the leader of such a globally connected company.

Brown: 鈥Let me start by saying how authentically committed I am to being multicultural. 榴莲视频app色版 is a global business with multilingual teams. I would not have the talent I’m blessed to have if we didn鈥檛 operate this way, so it’s important that we recruit and develop talent globally and retain this cultural component of 榴莲视频app色版. This commitment to multiculturalism also speaks to the company鈥檚 commitment to literacy.鈥澛

This is literacy in every sense of the word. 榴莲视频app色版 supports both basic literacy and workforce literacy in the local Frederick community by participating in programs such as the Literacy Council and the Workforce Services Board (the latter of which Brown chairs), and by partnering directly with Frederick Community College and the Frederick County Public Schools system. 鈥淭hese are wonderful people,鈥 enthuses Brown. 鈥淭hese literacy teachers build up a very strong trust relationship with our workforce; and our workforce needs to know we鈥檙e not measuring them but, rather, supporting them.鈥

Brown knows the importance of being able to speak the local language, wherever in the world one might be, through personal experience. Brown: 鈥淚鈥檓 British, and though Brits and Americans speak English, it鈥檚 not always the same English. There are peculiarities I鈥檝e had to learn. Look, I鈥檝e traveled the world. I’m a big advocate of learning the language of any place you鈥檙e going as best you can. I speak several languages other than English at least moderately well. In many parts of the world, English is the lingua franca, but I never want to assume that everyone reads and writes perfect English. One of the things we do at 榴莲视频app色版 in this regard is offer the same document in multiple languages.鈥

In the end, in Brown鈥檚 mind, 榴莲视频app色版’s support for workforce literacy and workforce multiculturalism gets directly at what the company wants to be. 鈥淚 want our people, everywhere in the world, to have that multicultural mindset,鈥 says Brown. 鈥淚t enriches our organization in every aspect. It adds so much depth. Wherever you are in your career, learning development is crucial. Literacy is a vital component of learning development. And I think literacy supports a learning mindset. A commitment to literacy also engenders a feeling of trust in the organization. There鈥檚 a concept called exchange theory. That the core of any business is trust. It’s important to me that all our stakeholders trust this organization: shareholders, customers, and, crucially, our employees.鈥

It鈥檚 no secret that Germany is a manufacturing mecca. Countries, companies, and people the world over turn to Deutschland for some of the most innovative engineering and precision machining found on the planet, which brings us to Benedikt Moeller. Benedikt is a manufacturing engineer and supervisor at 榴莲视频app色版. He grew up and trained as a Process Mechanic for Plastic and Rubber Technology in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

鈥淚n Germany, there are two paths you can take out of high school,鈥 says Benedikt. 鈥淵ou can do an apprenticeship, and learn actual manufacturing skills, or you can go straight on to university. I chose the apprenticeship path, which offers the added benefit of being able to go back to college. With the apprenticeship path, I would learn both technical and application methodologies while gaining work experience. I knew that with the apprenticeship path I had one shot to get it right, so I took advantage of that.鈥

After completing his apprenticeship, Benedikt pursued his Training-Instructor certification and earned his state-certified Engineering Technician with a minor in Process Engineering: all while working full-time as a Process Engineer. The German system is one of formal training paired with on-the-job training鈥攁 system that helps people gain skills without having to go straight to college after high school, and which helps them establish a career in any field.

Benedikt has been in the U.S. for about a year and a half. He started his job at 榴莲视频app色版 in June 2024. Benedikt is a military spouse, and he accompanied his wife to the Washington, D.C. metro area鈥攕pecifically, Fairfax, Virginia鈥攁fter completing a tour of duty in Germany. From there, Benedikt’s job search was straightforward: find a job in his field along Route 270 for an easy commute from Germantown, MD. 榴莲视频app色版 seemed the perfect fit, then, not just from a daily travel perspective but also from a professional perspective.

Benedikt: 鈥淚 saw that 榴莲视频app色版 handled a lot of extrusions, plastic extrusions in particular, and that’s my background in manufacturing, so I felt very comfortable with that. But I also saw that some of the work I鈥檇 be doing is in aluminum extrusions. I hadn鈥檛 done that sort of work previously, but I thought, well, I鈥檒l give it a try. And so here I am.鈥

Benedikt鈥檚 position at 榴莲视频app色版 is part office job, part production job. Again, it鈥檚 a perfect fit for his background, for the way his home country鈥檚 system educates and trains its young people. 榴莲视频app色版, of course, is also known for bringing on apprentices and interns, to teach them the job of manufacturing the bespoke engineering solutions it鈥檚 known for, from the ground up. This process of being able to see a product through from conception to production has been a nice change of pace from Benedikt鈥檚 previous job.

鈥淢y job in Germany was high-volume manufacturing,鈥 says Benedikt, 鈥渁nd I never saw the end product in its finished form. Here at 榴莲视频app色版, it鈥檚 the complete opposite. I see jobs through from start to finish, and not just on the factory floor. Driving around Frederick I can see our electrical enclosures in use on telephone poles and traffic lights. To be able to see something I worked on out in the real world is very special.鈥

As for how he鈥檚 fitting in, not just at 榴莲视频app色版 but in real-world America, Benedikt also has something to feel good about: 鈥淚n Germany, we had people from across the world working with us, and I was always the person helping newcomers adjust. Now I鈥檓 the newcomer, to my place of work and to the wider culture, and I鈥檓 finding it all very open and welcoming. 榴莲视频app色版 in particular is a very collaborative culture. It鈥檚 something I鈥檓 used to and like very much. I鈥檓 in a good place now any way you look at it.鈥

Future engineers of Frederick, unite! and 榴莲视频app色版 recently teamed up for a STEM day that brought students out from Frederick High School for a day of hands-on learning and robotic systems demos at each of these tech-forward local companies.

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. The acronym has become shorthand for the kind of education that turns out the researchers, engineers, and scientists the world is always in need of, whether that鈥檚 business, industry, government, or academia.

stands for Linking Youth to New Experiences. LYNX is a partnership between Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) and community partners鈥攍ike INPRO and 榴莲视频app色版鈥攖hat centers on creating individualized plans for high school students that maximize their choices and flexibility in setting and meeting academic and career goals.

INPRO and 榴莲视频app色版 have a long history of collaboration, with 榴莲视频app色版 regularly turning to INPRO for its expertise in areas such as machine design, robotics integration, and UV system integration. For this INPRO-hosted STEM Day, after seeing what the engineers at INPRO do all day, the Frederick High School students visited INPRO鈥檚 neighbor鈥斄窳悠礱pp色版鈥攚here they toured the production floor and learned more about the company鈥檚 manufacturing processes.聽

According to Rebekah Collogan, Vice President, Engineering at 榴莲视频app色版, STEM Days like this are invaluable for high school students, as a way to expose them to the possibilities a career in engineering might hold, and as a way for 榴莲视频app色版 to . 鈥淚t鈥檚 important to introduce kids to manufacturing at a young age because we need new perspectives. We鈥檝e been manufacturing in the same way for generations, and new solutions will have to come from those that have new ideas. That鈥檚 why it鈥檚 important for us to bring in the younger generation; it grows our community. And when our community is successful, then we can be successful, as well.鈥
